Machining of bevel gears

Bevel gears are mainly used for transmission where two shafts intersect, and the angle between the two shafts is usually 90°, but can also be less than 90°. Bevel gears are generally processed on special machine tools such as bevel tooth planers, and in the absence of special machine tools for bevel gears, they can be processed with bevel gear milling cutters on the milling machine, which uses forming tools and indexing devices to process on the milling machine. Due to the indexing error and tool installation error, only gears with 9~10 levels of accuracy can generally be machined. In addition, multiple discontinuous tooth splits need to be done during the machining process, and the productivity is also low, which is only used for single-piece small batch production and gears with low machining accuracy in repair work.
